Rove to leave the White House, return to Texas – Los Angeles Times

Rove was apparently good with elections in which he used the “divide and conquer” technique  versus let me put the best person forward. He wins by small margins which leads to a split America. He is NOT a good policy maker.  Both international and domestic policy requires the ability to compromise. Policy is NOT like an election. Policy is about finding the place that serves our nation in the most efficient manner. Sometimes that involves understanding both the minority and the majority and coming to a functional compromise. Rove was not intellectually strong enough to be able to find this area in politics. He took the short road. He looked to divide America, especially along religious lines which was a “great” (used sarcastically)  thing to do after 9/11. He was probably has done more to assist Al Qaeda than the average US citizen?

Rove to leave the White House, return to Texas – Los Angeles Times
WASHINGTON — Political strategist Karl Rove, whose campaign tactics twice propelled President Bush to the countrys highest office, will retire at the end of the month, White House officials said today.

Rove, praised by Bush as the political architect of his victories and excoriated by Democrats for the ruthless edge he brought to political rivalry, is the last of Bushs Texas-based inner circle to leave the administration.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Rove said that after more than six years at the presidents side in the White House, and another six years assisting Bush when he was governor of Texas, the time had come for him to spend more time with his family.
